Life Is Good

Playing "airplane" with Daddy

Watching Praise Baby and "singing" along! He is his mommy's son!

This week I have really been struggling to be thankful. After all, Mike's graduation from seminary is only 20 days away, and we still don't know where we're headed. All week long the list of upcoming challenges has been weighing on my mind and on my heart:

1) Neither of us has a job yet, and I can't apply for any until I know where we're going to be!
2) Our lease is up in June and we don't know where we're going to live come July.
3) We are going to need to find a way to transport all of our belongings to our new place,
wherever that may be.
4) What if we move to a state that requires me to take MORE exams to be certified to teach?
5) What if we move far away from both our families?

...and many more such thoughts have been plaguing me as of late. But today, as I was reading my Bible, I came across this passage:

" 28And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose. 29For those God foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the likeness of his Son, that he might be the firstborn among many brothers. 30And those he predestined, he also called; those he called, he also justified; those he justified, he also glorified. 31What, then, shall we say in response to this? If God is for us, who can be against us? 32He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all—how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? 33Who will bring any charge against those whom God has chosen? It is God who justifies. 34Who is he that condemns? Christ Jesus, who died—more than that, who was raised to life—is at the right hand of God and is also interceding for us. 35Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or nakedness or danger or sword?" ~Romans 8:28-35~

How selfish I've been! Here we are, called to do nothing more than serve and trust our heavenly Father, he who did not spare his own SON, and I am worrying about such petty things! WORLDLY things, for that matter! We truly have so many things for which to be thankful! What a beautiful promise God gives us...if we only serve him, he WILL provide for our every need! "If God is for us, WHO CAN BE AGAINST US?" No one, no way, no how.

Thank you, Father, for the sacrifice you made for us...one we cannot possibly fathom! Help us to trust you wholly, no matter the circumstance, and to serve you better each and every day!

I have truly had a lot to think about today and my heart, mind and body are exhausted. Goodnight, dear friends! We covet your prayers as God continues to illumine his path for our family! Remember, LIFE IS GOOD, AND GOD IS GREATER!

  1. God must REALLY be trying to catch my attention with this passage, because it's the same passage Mike preached on this past Sunday!
