Art Project
For the boys' ocean themed bathroom. I'm really happy with how these turned out! It took MANY tries to get hand prints that weren't smeared. Keeping little boys who have paint all over their hands from touching anything else isn't easy, either! Thankfully, we had Daddy's help and a bucket of warm water on hand to rinse off with as soon as we were done. Joshua is so proud of his artwork and has to show it off to everyone who visits! They certainly aren't perfect, but they are definitely a special keepsake!

36 Weeks
Wow...baby is 36 weeks along already! I can't believe next week it will be his birth month! It seems like you wait so long and when you are first pregnant and saying, "Baby is due in September..." that it's ages away, but suddenly, *POOF!* baby is almost here!
Had an OB appointment this morning and everything looks great. Next week we have a sonogram to estimate baby's birth weight. I'm guessing over 8 lbs. again, but we'll see!
Still feeling great. Have had to tone down the walking a bit due to this HEAT - holy shamoly - where is the 70-degree weather we were having a couple weeks ago?! - and the fact that I get sore more easily. I'm currently still able to walk about 4 miles, which I don't think is too shabby for 36 weeks pregnant! Taking a break today, though...near 100 degrees and this humidity is just no good!
Most of our household projects are getting checked off the list, so I'm feeling much more prepared than I was a couple weeks ago. I'm hoping to be able to just relax and enjoy our last few weeks as a family of 4. Then let the craziness begin! :-)
Took Joshua to preschool registration this morning...he starts next Wednesday. I just cannot believe he's so big already. I know he's going to love it, but I'm sure I'll be a blubbering mess next week!
I guess that's about all the news on our end...happy Wednesday, all!

Brothers
Luke has been sleeping in the bottom bunk in his and Joshua's room for a couple months now, but I don't think I ever shared pictures. They LOVE being in the same room together!
Anybody else thankful it's FRIDAY?!?! Happy weekend, everyone!

Recent Projects
Here are a couple recent decorating projects that have been keeping me from the blog...the boys' room is DONE! Mike always teases me when I say that, because I say I'm done decorating a room and then I find something else I want to do, LOL.
I'm really happy with how their room has turned out...now on to all my other household projects!

Visit to Iowa
A couple weeks ago, we made the trip out to NW Iowa to visit my parents. It was our last big trip before this new little guy arrives!
Grandpa had some landscaping work to do, and Joshua loved "helping!"
We headed out to the local apple orchard one morning. They have the coolest area in the back for kids called the Back Forty Playground. There were so many fun activities for the boys. We actually got there before they were open, but they let us explore anyway. It worked out in our favor, because we were the only people there!
There were even games for the big kids! ;-)
Climbing Tire Mountain.
What a fun weekend! Can't wait to hit up our local orchards in a few weeks for apples and pumpkins!
I Know, I Know...
...it's been over two weeks since I've posted! I thought life would slow down a bit after we got back from our last trip of the summer, but that hasn't happened. I am going to do my best to catch up and get back on track, so bear with me.
Baby reached 35 weeks yesterday, only 34 days left until my due date. I know I keep saying this, but time is flying! I'm feeling well, still walking 4-5 miles 4-5 times a week. The biggest change is that I really have to try to get most of my "work" accomplished in the morning, because once the boys go down for their afternoon nap, I am completely wiped out. And if I don't allow myself some time to rest in the afternoon, I just don't feel well.
We still have lots to get accomplished before this little guy's arrival. Slowly and surely we are plugging away at household projects (yes, I am nesting...MAJORLY...poor Mike!). I'd like to have nearly everything checked off my list by the time September hits, so, in 10 more days? LOL, we'll see how that goes!
Anyway, that's it for now. Happy Hump Day!

The Magic House - St. Louis Children's Museum
Another stop we made on our trip to St. Louis was the Magic House. The kids really enjoyed it, but Mike and I thought it was a bit overpriced for the activities they offer. We are still undecided as to whether or not we'll return, but here are some pics of the fun!
Luke LOVED the water room...he tried to climb into the water a few times, and ended up pretty soaked!
Super Sleuth Joshua!
Making digital art with Daddy.
We had fun, but by the time we left, the place was so crowded you could hardly walk around. I think we may try to find some other fun activities when we return to St. Louis next year!

St. Louis Zoo
This past weekend we ventured to St. Louis, MO, to visit the zoo. We had such a wonderful time!
So EXCITED!
Joshua's (and Momma's!) favorites were the elephants.
The lion didn't want to wake up from his nap to entertain us.
At the end of the day, we rode the train around the zoo. Joshua had been talking about it ALL DAY. We finally got in line and were almost ready to board when the train broke down! Go figure. We were able to convince Josh to take a break for some ice cream, and by the time we were done, the train was fixed...hooray! His day was made.
After 6 hours at the zoo, Daddy & Momma were pooped, but Joshua didn't want to leave. We had to tell him that the zoo was closing soon so the animals could rest, and he was okay with that! What a fun day! We will definitely be back next year!
