Monday Sickies

 My sweet boys are not feeling so hot today.  They both have colds and are just kind of under-the-weather.  I think it probably has something to do with the changing weather and constant running around we've been doing lately.  We've had a fun, but CRAZY, October!  Lots of snuggles and taking it easy on the docket for today.  I don't mind one bit!  ;-)

Even though our Lions didn't pull out a W last night, we still had a fun night watching them play!

Joshua was not feeling the family photo thing, so I just got one of us with the little guy.  Chili, cinnamon rolls, family and football made for an excellent Monday night!

175 Years

This past weekend, Fairview Reformed Church celebrated its 175th anniversary!  It is the oldest Reformed Church west of the Allegheny Mountains.  There is so much rich history and tradition in this church and community.  We feel incredibly blessed to be able to serve here.

Mike is the church's 20th minister.  Lookin' pretty handsome in his Sunday duds!  ;-)

One of my favorite events of our celebration weekend was an organ concert by our very dear friend and incredibly accomplished organist, Davis Folkerts.

Our church has a beautiful 1910 Hinners organ that Davis couldn't wait to get his hands on!  He played a concert on this organ in 1995 when it was restored, and we were thrilled to have him back.  What a wonderful afternoon of beautiful music!



Of course, we ate LOTS of delicious food all weekend!

 
Along with Davis and his wife, Eunice, my grandparents and Mike's parents made it to Fairview to share in the celebration with us.  The boys loved having so many people around!  Sadly, everyone has headed home, and it seems eerily quiet in the house this morning...

It has been such a blessing to belong to such a wonderful church family and community.  We have truly found a treasure here in the little town of Fairview, IL.  God is so good!
