My very first Easter!
Jesus Christ is risen! HALLELUJAH! What a beautiful reason to celebrate! Mike, Joshua and I traveled to Iowa this past weekend to spend Easter with my family. We arrived on Friday and stayed with my parents in Williamsburg. Saturday, we spent the day in Pella to celebrate April birthdays with the Schnell family and to visit Josh's Great-Grandma Harthoorn, Great-Uncle David and Great-Aunt Peg!
On Sunday we attended the Easter Sonrise service at Williamsburg First Pres. It was wonderful to celebrate the resurrection of our Lord and Savior with friends and family in the 'Burg. After church, we spent the afternoon in Grinnell with Great-Grandma R. and some extended family. It was great to have so many generations together under one roof!
Monday was a day of rest. Mike, JJ and I rested up at Grandpa and Grandma's while they were at work and then spent our evening eating, playing games and talking with them. What a perfect end to an amazing weekend!
Yesterday morning we were up and on the road before sunrise - at 4:30 a.m., to be exact! Joshua was wide awake and ready to roll - Mommy and Daddy were not. :-P We are thankful for safe travels, time to spend with family and friends, and most importantly for the sacrifice our heavenly Father made for us by sending his son to die on the cross!
Yesterday was Mike's birthday, but as we were on the road most of the day, we didn't celebrate as a family yet. I'd better sign off so I can prepare for tonight's festivities! :-D
Love and blessings,
Mike, Krys and Joshua
