Dear Parents with Young Children in Church
My friend Noelle shared this article on Facebook and I love it so I just had to share it here. I really needed to read this today, especially after a particularly rough Sunday with the kiddos in church. Sometimes I think I just need to lighten up, LOL. I mean, they are only 3 years old and 18 months old. Anyway, enjoy!

Glass Houses
A friend of mine posted this to Facebook, and I liked it so much I just had to share...
To
the mom who's breastfeeding: Way to go! It really is an amazing gift to
give your baby, for any amount of time that you can manage! You're a
good mom.
To the mom who's formula feeding: Isn't science
amazing? To think there was a time when a baby with a mother who
couldn't produce enough would suffer, but now? Better living through
chemistry! You're a good mom.
To the cloth diapering mom: Fluffy bums are the cutest, and so friendly on the bank account. You're a good mom.
To the disposable diapering mom: Those things hold a lot, and
it's excellent to not worry about leakage and laundry! You're a good
mom.
To the mom who stays home: I can imagine it isn't easy
doing what you do, but to spend those precious years with your babies
must be amazing. You're a good mom.
To the mom who works:
It's wonderful that you're sticking to your career, you're a positive
role model for your children in so many ways, it's fantastic. You're a
good mom.
To the mom who had to feed her kids from the drive
thru all week because you're too worn out to cook or go grocery
shopping: You're feeding your kids, and hey, I bet they aren't
complaining! Sometimes sanity can indeed be found in a red box with a
big yellow M on it. You're a good mom.
To the mom who gave
her kids a homecooked breakfast lunch and dinner for the past week:
Excellent! Good nutrition is important, and they're learning to enjoy
healthy foods at an early age, a boon for the rest of their lives.
You're a good mom.
To the mom with the kids who are sitting
quietly and using their manners in the fancy restaurant: Kudos, it takes
a lot to maintain order with children in a place where they can't run
around. You're a good mom.
To the mom with the toddler having
a meltdown in the cereal aisle: they always seem to pick the most
embarrassing places to lose their minds don't they? We've all been
through it. You're a good mom.
To the moms who judge other moms for ANY of the above? Glass houses, friend. Glass houses.

Fun Weekend
Last Thursday night, my sis, mom, grandma & I met up in Davenport to see Chonda Pierce in concert. She is a Christian comedian and a phenomenal singer. Her testimony is truly inspiring. We had such a fun night! My throat hurt at the end of the night from laughing so hard. For more info on Chonda, visit http://www.chonda.org/#lightbox. The next day, we headed out for some shopping.
Mike and the boys met us for lunch Friday and then my parents took the boys home with them for the weekend. Mike and I had 2 whole days with no kids...what to do, what to do? Friday we had a date night. We went out for dinner at a FlatTop Grill...sssooo yummy! Mike has been wanting to go there for a long time, but the food really isn't suited to a 3-year-old and an 18-month-old who always want chicken strips and French fries, LOL. Then we shopped a little and came home and watched a movie. It was SO quiet in the house, but Mike made the comment that it was nice being able to eat our ice cream without having little ones begging us to share. So true, haha. Saturday we did a bunch of cleaning that is difficult to get done with the kiddos underfoot. I definitely missed my babies, but what a nice weekend we had! Thanks, Mom & Dad!
Enjoy this lovely Wednesday!

Overheard in Parenting
Joshua is at such a fun age right now. He always has something to say, and usually has us in stitches! Here are just a few recent Joshua-isms so I won't forget them...
1) Daddy: "We have lots of long patches of grass in the yard. Time to mow!"
Momma: "It's from all the dog poop, squirrel poop, etc. during the winter."
Joshua: "And snowman poop!"
2) Yesterday I came downstairs in a dress. Joshua said, "Momma, did you shave your legs?" Um, yes buddy, but thanks for checking. HA!
3) We were on our way to the doctor's office to find out the gender of Baby #3. Mike said, "Daddy thinks it's a girl. Momma thinks it's a boy. What do you think, Joshua?" He thought a minute, then said, "Um, I think it's just a baby, I guess."
4) When we found out we are having a boy, Joshua told us he thinks the name should be "Daddy Jr."
5) The other day after church, some friends invited us out for lunch. When we told JJ where we were going he said, "We're eating at a restaurant? A REAL restaurant?!" He was so excited! Apparently we don't get out enough, LOL.
6) Throughout this pregnancy, Joshua has said we are having a girl. The other night before bed, he changed his mind and said he wanted another brother. I said, "So, there will be 3 brothers?" He said, "No, how about 5 brothers!" Mike told him no, there is only one baby in Momma's tummy. He said, "Oh, there aren't TWO babies? Oh, ok." Apparently he thinks I am too big to be having just 1 baby!
7) Whenever someone sneezes, he always says, "Bless you!" But instead of calling it a "sneeze," he calls it a "bless." ie. "I just blessed!" or "Daddy blessed!"
I'm sure there are more that I'm forgetting, but those of some of the best ones. This kid is such a character...can't wait to see what he comes up with next!

The BIG Announcement
Baby #3 is a...
...perfect, healthy little BOY!!!!!
I don't know why, but I just had this feeling. I could picture us with 3 little boys running around. We are so excited! His ultrasound pictures look JUST like Luke's...it could be the same kid! Thank you, God, for this perfect little blessing! Can't wait to meet him in September!

Blessed
I took this picture of Joshua and his Great-Grandpa DePree a couple weeks ago when we were in Michigan and I just love it! Mike and I have both been blessed to grow up with wonderful grandparents and great-grandparents, and it makes me so happy that our kids are just as blessed! Thank you, Lord, for the special gift of grandparents!
