Memorial Day

Today we remember all the men and women who have lost their lives in service to our country (as well as their families). Thank you, all, for fighting for our freedom, and thank you, Lord, that we are blessed with such freedom!

We had a wonderful weekend - Joshua got to spend his weekend with both sets of grandparents - what a blessed little boy! I know I have posted tons of pool pictures lately, but he is seriously such a water baby!

And this is what happens when Momma and Daddy say it's time to get out of the pool and go inside...hopefully we can splash again tomorrow!

It was nice to be able to spend the weekend surrounded by family. I cannot say it enough - we are truly so very blessed!

We hope you had a wonderful weekend as well! Can you believe tomorrow is the last day of May? Say WHAT?!?!

Love and blessings,
The Hollemans

Totally Fun Tuesday!

What a great day we had! This morning, we met some friends at the park and played for awhile.

Then, after his nap, Joshua spent nearly 2 hours splashing in his pool!

And running around in the yard...

I love this photo...it looks like a swimsuit ad! Check out my manly physique!

His trunks are a little big, but I got them for a steal - $3 at a consignment shop!

And no day is complete without some father/son play time! They are two peas in a pod!

What a great day, Momma!

We are currently snuggling in the living room, hiding out from the thunder storms and praying for no tornadoes!

Have a great night!

Little Musician

Another favorite toy at our house is this piano. It plays songs, tones, and teaches colors. Joshua has spent many hours working on his beautiful compositions (and Mommy loves it because it keeps his sticky little fingers off my piano, haha)! :-)

The master at work - concentrating hard!

One of his new favorite games is to play a note on this piano and then Mommy sings it back to him...Look what I can make that silly woman do! Isn't it amazing what we'll do to make them smile and laugh? Just can't get enough of those smiles!

Have a terrific Wednesday!

A "Chill" Weekend

Isn't it nice sometimes to have a weekend with very few activities? This weekend was nice and relaxing. It rained most of the weekend, so we spent lots of time indoors, playing, reading, hanging out in our jammies and watching movies. What a fun way to catch up on rest after another busy week!

Our boy is growing and learning so much every day! He has recently developed an obsession with trucks, or "gucks" as he calls them. This morning in church I got a couple toy trucks out of his diaper bag - big mistake! He immediately started making LOUD truck noises, which were entertaining to the rest of the congregation...not so much for Momma, haha. Oh well...you live and learn! :-)

Hope you all have had a wonderful weekend!

Love and blessings,
The Hollemans

Good Morning Sunshine!

Is there anything sweeter than a sleepy little boy in his jammies?

He was not awake enough yet this morning to smile for the camera. His latest phase that I am LOVING is that he will randomly run up to me during the day and give me a hug! I am sure this won't last long, but it just melts my heart!

Have a great day...it's almost Friday!

Keeping Cool

The weather was beautiful here yesterday...90 degrees and sunny! So we decided it would be fun to get out Josh's pool and fill it up!

What a great way to keep cool! We spent a good chunk of the afternoon just relaxing and splashing away! Yay for warm spring days!

Joshua Has Something to Tell You...

That's right! Baby Holleman #2 is due November 15, 2011! We feel so blessed that God has granted us the opportunity to raise these children to know and love him!

Have a blessed Mother's Day!

Tulip Time 2011

This weekend we ventured to Pella, Iowa, for some Tulip Time festivities, as well as catch-up time with family and friends! Mommy and Joshua waiting for the lighted parade to start!

While we waited for the parade to begin, Josh & I shared some poffertjes, which are one of the most delicious, cinnamon-sugar coated Dutch treats!

This was one of our favorite floats of the night...Thomas the Train!

Poor little man didn't make it through the whole parade...sssooo sleepy!

My parents camped for the weekend at Lake Red Rock, so we spent lots of time relaxing at their campsite!

Kisses for Grandpa!

Isn't camping food just so yummy?!

All tuckered out after a busy weekend!

And, of course, we had to get some pictures with the tulips! Pella's tulips were just gorgeous this year, and the weather was perfect!

Joshua thought the tulips were just great until he broke one of them...ssshhh, don't tell the tulip police!

What a terrific weekend! We are now headed out for a nice long walk and some time at the park...just so thankful for this beautiful weather!

Hope you all have had a great weekend!

Love and blessings,
M, K & JJ

Doing Things the Hard Way

For Easter this year, Mike & I got Joshua a bubble lawn mower. We thought, what a fun toy for summer!

Well, he does like the lawn mower, he does NOT want to push it the correct way. I tried 100 times to show him how to do it, but he prefers to do things the hard way. His personality is already starting to shine through! As in, I am not going to do what you say, Momma! Haha. A glimpse into the future... ;-)

Have a great day!

Love,
The Hollemans

Heaven Is For Real!

If you have not read this book, I highly recommend it. Heaven Is For Real by Todd Burpo tells of his 4-year-old son's near-death experience with an emergency appendectomy. Months after the incident, young Colton begins telling his parents details about those days in the hospital that he could not possibly have known, as he was under anesthesia. He explains that he was sitting on Jesus' lap looking down, but that he had to come back because Jesus was answering his parents' prayers. In the months and years that follow, Colton shares more and more of his experiences in heaven, all of which have Biblical evidence to back them up. It is a short read (I read it in about 2 hours), but be sure to have a box of tissues at your side...I literally bawled through the whole book. Oh, if only we could all have the faith of a child!

Pop A Wheelie

This rocket has provided hours of entertainment for our little man. He rides the thing all over the house, sometimes all day long!

Today, he learned how to "pop a wheelie" and thinks he is pretty hot stuff now! Watch this, Momma! What a little show-off! :-)

Fun times on a cold day...gosh I love this kid!
