Sweet Boys & a GREAT Day!

Ever have one of those days when everything just goes wrong? We all have them, and I think it is our sinful nature that causes us to focus on those "bad" days. But today, in this momma's book, was a GREAT day...one of those rare days where everything just seems to go RIGHT. And I am savoring it!

It started with Joshua and I snuggling and watching TV in bed this morning while Luke slept. It might seem silly, but those moments are RARE. It is rare for JJ and Momma to have much "us" time, and the kid is not a snuggler, so that was also rare. I soaked up the entire 10 minutes he was content to just lay there in my arms, just me and my first baby. Perfect start to my day!

Then we played outside for 2 1/2 hours! Beautiful, sunshiney, 70-degree weather. The fresh air did us all good, and put an extra spring in Momma's step!

Daddy came home early, which meant Momma got to go for a run. Yes, I have been "running," if you can call it that...more like jogging ever-so-slowly. I am still doing Jillian's 30-Day Shred, but am alternating that with 2-mile runs. And if it doesn't work out for me to run (ie. rainy, too cold, or the hubby can't watch the boys), I do the Shred instead. But today, the run felt GOOD.

We spent the evening at Youth Club, and now we are topping off our wonderful day by watching Cars 2. Maybe it's my attitude (I am working on being a more positive person), but I just can't get over how wonderful today was! Thank you, Jesus, for a truly beautiful day with my boys!

And now, for your viewing pleasure, some sweet photos of my babes...

Reading books with my big brother is the BEST, Momma!

Joshua is becoming such a loving and protective big brother!

Snuggles.

For the life of me, I cannot get a single photo where they are both looking at the camera! But, they are still pretty cute, if I do say so myself! :-)

I love Joshua's face in this one...he looks like such a proud big brother!

Kind of caught them both! Haha.

We hope you had a wonderful day!

Weekend Recap

We have had a BUSY but very fun weekend in the Holleman household!

Friday we met my mom in Davenport for a fun day of shopping!

Look who suddenly became a pro at rolling in both directions!!!!! Now he is ALL over the place! If we put a toy in the middle of the room, he will do a combination of scooting and rolling until he reaches it!

Saturday morning sillies!

s

Saturday morning breakfast - a jelly doughnut - YUM!

Joshua discovered a love for sidewalk chalk! Our driveway is now beautifully decorated! :-)

He was so funny - he just kept drawing lines. I would say, "What are you drawing?" "An N," he'd say, and draw a line. "What are you drawing now?" "McQueen." And another line. Haha.

And look who is joining us at meal times like such a big boy in the high chair! The pediatrician told us we should start giving him a little baby cereal to teach him to use a spoon...so far, it's tough to tell what he thinks about the cereal...but he loves taking part in our dinner conversation!

Hope you all had a lovely weekend...time for this family to head to bed!

Love and blessings,
Mike, Krys, Joshua & Luke

The Best ♥

I would have to say this is one of my very favorite things about being a momma - snuggling a sleeping baby on my chest! Please ignore the mussed hair and lack of make-up...Luke didn't have time to pretty up for a photo, haha! :-)

Ice Cream Love ♥

Last week, the ice cream center in Fairview opened for the season, so we loaded the boys up into the stroller and walked on over!

Our boys are lovin' this beautiful weather!

Joshua, of course, requested chocolate ice cream!

What mess, Momma?

Chocolate ice cream = B. L. I. S. S.!

"Dee-licious!"

4 Month Stats

Today I took Luke to his 4-month well-baby appointment. He weighed in at a whopping 17 lbs. 2 oz. (82%) & is 27 in. long (98%)! He's a good little eater! :-) The doctor said he is meeting all his developmental milestones plus some, and we have us a very healthy boy!

Poor little guy had to get shots again, and he spent the majority of the afternoon zonked out!

The past few days have been GORGEOUS...here are just a few photos of our outdoor fun!

Luke has been happy just bummin' around in his diaper...he is just like his big brother...the fewer clothes, the better!

Hope you had a terrific Monday!

Happy St. Patrick's Day!

We are not Irish, but I love starting new traditions, and last year I started the tradition of making green food for breakfast on St. Patrick's Day.

One of Joshua's favorite books (let's face it, he has about a hundred favorites, haha!) is Green Eggs & Ham by Dr. Seuss, so he was super excited to be having green scrambled eggs!

I think it was a hit! :-D

Boys' Day

This past Friday, I had the wonderful opportunity to be able to attend the National Hearts at Home conference in Normal, IL. This is an annual conference for moms...I went last year and loved it, and was so excited to go again! Some of the featured speakers included Dr. Juli Slattery from Focus on the Family, The FlyLady (http://flylady.net) & Jim Bob & Michelle Duggar! It was a spectacular day!

Since Mike takes Fridays off, he was able to stay home with the boys. Momma was gone from 6 a.m. - 9 p.m., so it was a busy day for Daddy! :-)

They played outside most of the day. And why not?! The weather was GORGEOUS!

The day included a few naps.

And more play time...

Such a fun day, Momma!

Mike & the boys had a really great day. It was nice for me to get away with my girlfriends for a day, and nice for the boys to be able to have some one-on-one time with Daddy!

Play Date at the Park!

The weather here has been so beautiful this week, and yesterday we got to take advantage of it and play with our friends Blake & Logan at the park!

Takin' a snooze in the Baby Bjorn.

Playing chase!

Just chillin'.

Momma, I am going to WASTE AWAY if I don't get some food soon!

Best buddies, patiently waiting for their lunch at the ice cream center.

Someone is in serious need of a haircut!

Cashed out after a fun and busy morning! We got to go back to the park today with our friends Sawyer & Finn, but, of course, Momma didn't manage to get any pictures. We had fun, though! So thankful for this beautiful weather and time with friends!
