Christmas 2010

We hope you all had a very Merry Christmas! Here are some photos from our holiday weekend...

It was so fun to watch his face light up over and over again as we celebrated the birth of our Lord and Savior!



We got a pretty big snow storm on Christmas Eve, which made for a beautiful, white Christmas!



Joshy couldn't wait to get outside and try out his new sled on the freshly fallen snow!



He was having the time of his life!



We were blessed to be surrounded by family and friends throughout the holiday season, and we pray that you were as well.



Best Christmas ever, thus far! I can't wait until next year when Josh is a little older and can really understand our Christmas traditions and that Jesus is the reason for the season!



Oh, and did I mention that glorious Lions win on Sunday? My boys thought that was a pretty great Christmas gift! :-D

Happy First Birthday, Joshua!

Happy first birthday, Joshua Jace! We celebrated with a Lightning McQueen party theme.



He couldn't wait to get his hands on those cupcakes!

And oh boy, were those birthday cupcakes delicious!

And now we are snuggling and watching movies to top off a wonderful day. This little boy has truly blessed our lives! We love you, Joshua!

Hammin' It Up!

When Joshua gets tired, he (like most of us) gets VERY silly. The other night just before bedtime he was really hamming it up!



Hi, Momma! Do you see me? Huh? Do ya? DO YA?????



BAHAHAHAHA! You are SSSOOO funny, Momma! (All I did was look at him and he burst into giggles!)



Guess he was extremely sleepy, because after the giggle-fest, he could barely keep his eyes open. Night-night!

Only 2 more days! Happy Day-Before-The-Day-Before-Christmas!

Play Time

Most mornings, Joshua wakes up, has his sippy cup, plays a while, eats breakfast and then plays and plays until Mommy says it is nap time. As long as I hear him banging and making noise in the other room, I know that all is well!

This morning, I peeked my head around the corner to find this...



I guess taking the toys out of the basket and playing with them isn't good enough...he needed to sit IN the basket!



What? You just said don't climb the stairs, you never said I couldn't climb into this basket, Mommy!

Only THREE more days until Christmas! I am getting very excited to have my family here with us this weekend, and praying the bad weather will hold off or perhaps miss us...?

Only 4 more days, can you believe it? We are having guests this weekend, so I ventured out today to stock up on groceries and other necessities. All I can say is if you plan to go shopping in the next few days, bring LOTS of extra patience! And don't forget half the stuff on your list like I did! Thanks for bailing me out, Mom! :-D

Hope you all are having a wonderful week...we are trying to stay un-busy and remember the reason for the season. What an incredible LOVE God has for us to send his only Son into our broken, sinful world!

ONE WEEK!

Can you believe that in just one week, this little boy will be ONE YEAR OLD?!?!

I get to go to Grandpa and Grandma's house today...YIPPEE!

Today we are headed to Williamsburg to spend the weekend with my family, the first of many Christmas celebrations! Joshy can't wait to be spoiled by his grandparents, great-grandparents, aunts & uncles!

Only NINE more days...you'd better start shopping! ;-)

Bedtime Stories

Recently, Joshua has become much more interested in reading books. He used to wiggle and try to escape because he didn't want to sit still so long, but now he sits and listens intently, and cries when we stop reading.



Hopefully he will continue to enjoy reading as he gets older!

Can there really be only 10 more days until Christmas? Where has the month of December gone?

Nothing Is Safe

This little boy is becoming a pro at getting into EVERYTHING...nothing is safe! One of his favorite places is the pantry, because he has discovered that's where Mommy and Daddy keep the food!



I wasn't doing anything, Mommy, I swear...well, ok, I'm HUNGRY, and I was looking for a snack! ;-)



His other favorite cupboard to invade is the Lazy Susan near the sink. This is where we keep all his baby cereal and treats, sippy cups, etc., and he likes to take them ALL out!



Aw, man! Foiled again! Love you, Momma!

Only 11 days until Christmas...we are getting VERY excited!

"Roughing It"

Joshua received this tent as an early Christmas present, and yesterday we set it up on the living room floor so he (and Daddy, haha!) could go "camping."



Joshy is still trying to decide whether or not he likes this toy...maybe when he is a little older and understands what it means to go camping, then he will really enjoy it!

Mike and I have another date tonight - TWO in one weekend! Whoa! We are headed to a local high school for its annual dinner show. Weather permitting, that is!

Date Night!

Tonight we are going on our first date in months! If feels strange to be planning for a baby-sitter, but we are excited! This will be Joshua's first time with a baby-sitter who is not a family member. I am sure he'll have a blast...he LOVES high school girls! ;-)
