Happy Halloween!

Our cute little lion last year...

...and our cute little Lion this year!

Cuteness, even from behind!

He kept saying, "All done! Off?" in regards to the helmet...it was pretty heavy, so we quickly decided it would make an excellent candy bucket instead!

I LOVE this photo...he looks like he is posing for his senior pictures or something! Although, I am nowhere near ready for him to be THAT grown up!

It was difficult to get him to sit still long enough to get a good photo! I took over 100 photos, but most of them were of a little blue blur! Mommas of toddlers, you know what I mean!

Touchdown!

Seriously, lady, ENOUGH photos!

Hope you had a Happy Halloween!

22 Months

Joshua Jace, I cannot believe you are already 22 months old! In just two short months, you will be TWO! I know I say this over and over, but the time has really flown!

Since I am not-so-great at keeping up with your baby book, and I have to document your accomplishments somewhere - this blog has become your very own online baby book! Haha!

At 22 months, these are some of your favorite things:

*Your puppy. He is never far from your side. You have to have him for naps and bedtime, but you like to drag him all around the house with you. When we go out, we leave Puppy at home, but you always ask about him, especially if you are upset or sleepy.

*Curious George is your current favorite as far as movies go. We have three Curious George DVD's, and when I ask what you want to watch, you always say, "George." When I ask which "George" you would like, you either respond with, "zoo, music, or robot." It's a good thing Christmas and your birthday are coming, because Daddy and I are getting a little tired of the same 3 movies - ha!

*FOOD. Kid, you can eat! You often put away more than your pregnant momma can, and that's a LOT! Current favorites include: Hot dogs, pizza, peanut butter sandwiches, French fries, macaroni & cheese, and pretty much any kind of fruit, although you ask for apples most often. You sometimes use your utensils, but still prefer the shovel-it-in-as-fast-as-you-can-with-both-hands method.

*Cars. You inherited about 100 Hotwheels cars from your Uncle Corey, and could sit and play with them all day. You like to count them and sort them by colors. It is rare for me to find you without a car in one hand and Puppy in the other!

*Books. You LOVE to read. All the time. In fact, we need to get some new books (Like I said, good thing Christmas and your birthday are just around the corner!), because you have so many of them memorized! Multiple times during the day, you will bring a book to Daddy or me, put it on our laps and say, "Read it! Please?"

*Hats. All of a sudden you have developed a love for hats, and never want to take yours off!

You have started talking so much these last couple months! Some of your more popular phrases and sayings are:

*"Love you." (My favorite!)
*"See you later."
*"Where is it?"
*"Find it!"
*"Read it!"
*"Please," & "Thank you."
*"Here you go."
*"Close it."
*"Open it."
*"Have it?"
*"Sleep tight." (Another favorite!)

You are getting good at saying your bedtime prayers, you know your ABC's and numbers 1-10, and you recognize your colors. You can name most animals and the sounds they make. You know many of your shapes, but you cannot say "triangle," so you call every triangle a "puzzle." You are starting to recognize & call friends & relatives by name. You look forward to Daddy coming home at the end of the day so the two of you can roughhouse. You typically nap 2-3 hours every afternoon and sleep from 9 p.m. to about 6-7 a.m. You will carry a phone around the house with you and have a conversation with *someone* on the other end. You love to watch football with Daddy & help Momma "fold" laundry. You refer to all clothing as "jammies." You frequently kiss my belly & talk to your "bwuvver." Every day, I am amazed by something new you have learned. You still love to make us laugh, and are always trying to find new ways to do so!

We love you so much, sweet boy! You bring such joy to our lives!

Beautiful Fall Day

What a gorgeous fall day! Nearly 70 degrees here in Fairview, and we are loving it!

After lunch, we headed out for some play time in the yard.

"Punkees, Momma, PUNKEES!" The kid loves pumpkins, lol.

He is all boy, digging in the rocks and dirt!

It has been a while since we've been able to get out and enjoy the weather, so he just ran and ran and ran!

And is he studly in his new hat or what?! For the longest time he wanted nothing to do with hats, but lately he has been obsessed with wearing Daddy's hats around the house. Momma decided it was time to buy him one of his own, and I found this cute Nike one at Gordman's for $6! SCORE!

Fun day, Momma!

Little man wore himself out and is now down for a nap. Momma is debating whether to attack some projects upstairs or take a nap herself. :-)

Have a wonderful day!

Weekend Visitors

This weekend, Joshua's Grandpa and Grandma Holleman came to visit us. We had such a nice time playing games, eating, shopping and just enjoying each other's company. We are so thankful to have such wonderful families!

36 weeks

Had my 36-week check-up today and the doctor says all is well! Not much to report...I am starting to get more uncomfortable; backaches, headaches, etc., but that's all to be expected. Overall, I still feel pretty well, so I am trying to take the aches and pains in stride.

Only 27 more days until Baby Boy is due! He'll be here before we know it!

Can't Get Enough...

Lately, Joshua can't get enough of books! He LOVES to read or have someone read to him. I can't even count the number of times he runs up to me during the day, book in hand, begging, "Read it? PLEASE?"

His current favorites are Goodnight Moon, If You Give a Cat a Cupcake, and I'm a Big Brother. He has those three memorized and will fill in the words as we read...so sweet!

I don't think I will ever tire of reading to him!

Last night, just before bed, JJ had a run-in with the door frame to his bedroom. He was looking at Daddy and not watching where he was going and BAM! He caught his forehead on the wooden frame. It was pretty traumatic - lots of sobs, hugs, kisses & cuddles before we finally got him calmed down. Thankfully, he didn't break the skin (we don't need any ER visits!), but he immediately had a giant purple goose egg. Poor kiddo. However, this morning when he woke up, it had disappeared! Thank you, Jesus! :-)

Hope you all have a happy Tuesday!

Love,
M, K & JJ

Fun Afternoon

Today our buddies Blake & Logan came over to play!

Giving "Logey" kisses...hopefully he will be this sweet with his baby brother when he arrives!

Logan wanted so badly to play like the big boys...every toy they had, he wanted!

Buddies wrestling on the floor!

This little man is SO CLOSE to walking! Then he really will be able to keep up with the big boys!

Joshua and Blake spent over 1/2 hour chasing each other around the house...I swear they must have done 50+ laps! They wear their mommas out! I have a feeling they will both sleep VERY well tonight!

What a great day, Momma! Can't wait until our friends can come play again!

New 'Do

I decided to try spiking JJ's hair this morning for church...doesn't he look SSSOOO handsome?!

And so grown up! I told him he was handsome and he has been walking around all day saying, "Ham-mom, ham-mom." Cutie patootie! :-)
