John Deere Pavilion

Friday, we met some friends in Davenport and spent the day fellowshipping and enjoying each other's company.

They have a little boy named Joshua, too!  He is just a couple months older than our Joshua.  The two boys had a great time playing together.

After lunch, we headed to the John Deere Pavilion so the boys could burn off some energy.

Cool tractors, Momma!

This was right up the big boy's alley!

He could climb on/in most of the machinery.  He loved to pretend he was driving!

They had a table full of toy tractors and combines, too.

SO much fun!

It was tough to tear him away when it was time to go home.

Both boys were tuckered out and slept in the car.  What a fun day!

Sneak Peek

Here is a sneak peek of the boys' 3-year and 1-year photos.  I took them yesterday and am thrilled with how they turned out!

I can't believe my big boy is going to be THREE in December!  He is just too much fun.  Such a little smarty.  He keeps his daddy and myself on our toes, but we love every minute!

And my baby is going to be ONE in a month!  He is getting into everything and learning new things every day.  God has truly blessed us with such sweet boys!

You'll have to wait to see the rest of the photos; going to keep you in suspense!  ;-)

11 Months

Happy 11 month birthday, Lukey!

I can't believe we only have one more month of you being a baby.  How could a year have gone by so quickly?!

You got your sixth tooth this month!

You are jibber-jabbering a lot.  No specific words yet, but we can sometimes coax you to say, "mamamama" or "dadadada."

Now that you are crawling, you are into anything and everything you can get your hands on!  Some of your favorite new toys are spoons, Momma's Tupperware, and empty cups.  You learned how to clap this month.  When one of us says, "Yay!" you clap your hands together and giggle.

You are now getting 1/2 cow's milk and 1/2 Momma's milk in your bottles.  We keep trying that sippy cup, but you are not too interested yet.  You wear size 4 diapers, and mostly size 18 months clothes.

You have started pulling yourself up onto your knees or into a standing position.  You can hold yourself that way for a little while, but we are still working on building up strength in those roly poly legs.

Momma gave you your first hair cut this month.  You did NOT like the clippers, but your new "do" looks adorable!  Makes you look even more grown up!

Luke Brennan, I am going to wish for this next month to go by so SLOWLY.  I am not ready for you to be ONE yet!  Your daddy and I just love the little boy you are becoming.  You are very pensive, always trying to figure things out.  I wish I knew what you are thinking about sometimes.  You love to giggle and find ways to make us giggle...you and your brother just laugh and laugh together.  You are such a love bug and never turn me down when I steal some extra cuddles.  You love to play with cars and trains and all things "boy."  We thank God every day for blessing us with YOU!

Momma's Barber Shop

Last night was hair cut night for all the boys in our house...including Daddy!

Joshua hates having his hair cut.  Normally, he cries as soon as I turn the clipper on and doesn't stop until I'm finished.

Last night, we bribed him with fruit snacks, and he didn't cry!  He almost did, but he was very brave!

So handsome!

And I finally caved and cut this little boy's hair, too.  I just LOVED his baby hair, but it really was getting too long.  We are going to try to take family photos this weekend, so I decided it was time.

Doesn't he look so grown up?!?!  He takes after his big brother and cried through the whole hair cut (all of 5 minutes).

Handsome little almost-11-month-old!

All dressed up in his monkey PJ's, Lightning McQueen hat and Daddy's suit coat!  Such a fashion icon!  :-P

An Afternoon on the Farm

Sunday afternoon, we spent a few hours at a local farm.  Friends of ours who own the farm invited all the kids from church out for some activities.

Joshua was enthralled by the horses!

The little guy got a pretty good nap in!

Dick showed the kids how he harnesses his horses to the wagon.

Somebody missed his nap and boy was he ornery!  But still pretty cute, if I may say so myself!  ;-)

Dick showed the kids how farmers used to hand-pick corn years ago.  The kids each took a row and got to work!

We gathered a wagon full of corn to use to make a sign for the church's 175th anniversary celebration in a couple weeks.

Norma had donuts and cider for the kids when they were done picking corn...You-Know-Who was all over that!  Ha.

 Such a fun afternoon!
