Super Bowl XLV

We are not big supporters of either team that made it to this year's Super Bowl, but we leaned toward supporting the Packers since they are a Midwest team. Our night was pretty low-key with a few great friends, lots of great food, fellowship, laughter and every once in a while turning our attention back to the actual game. :-)

Before our guests arrived, Joshua kept walking around the house saying, "Touchdown! Touchdown!" So cute!

And now our little man is tucked into bed and Mike and I are preparing to watch the new episode of GLEE! That is, if I can stay awake that long, haha...

Rough Week!

Phew! It has been a rough week in the Holleman household. This week we were visited by a nasty stomach bug that caught Joshua on Monday and had ahold of both Mike and myself by Wednesday. Three VERY sick people under one roof = an exhausting week of trying to keep hydrated, attempting to keep something, ANYTHING in our stomachs, being sick as a dog while chasing a busy toddler and disinfecting EVERYTHING! Joshua got the worst of it, poor boy. Those of you who know this kid know he must be sick if he passes up food! Thankfully, we are all feeling much better, Mommy has disinfected the entire house once AGAIN, and things seem to be back to normal. Praise the Lord!

This morning, Joshua had oatmeal for breakfast again. He started out with a spoon, but soon became impatient and started shoveling handfuls of the goop into his mouth. When Mommy turned around, this is what she found...

Is that not the sweetest, orneriest, I-know-something-you-don't-know smile you've ever seen?

Daddy's proudest moment this week was when he taught Joshua to say "Touchdown!" He throws his arms into the air and shouts, "Down!" Just too darn cute!

Our little man is becoming quite independent lately. His new favorite word is, "Yeah." Sometimes he knows what it means (ie. when I ask, "Do you want a sippy cup?" He responds with "Yeah."), but other times he does it just to bug his momma. For example, lately when I say, "No," to him, he looks at me, grins, and says, "YEAH!" I'll repeat, "No," and he says, "YEAH." "No. Yeah. No. Yeah. No. Yeah..." Well, you get the picture. Oh boy...have we really hit the I'm-going-to-do-exactly-the-opposite-of-whatever-you-say stage ALREADY!?!?

Anyway, we are ending this day by eating whatever we want (hey, we've hardly eaten anything all week!) and watching a movie. We hope you all are managing to stay healthy! Blessings!

Wordless Wednesday: Walking

93

Last week, my great-grandma turned 93 years old. So this past weekend we made a short trip to Iowa to celebrate!

One very special lady.

Joshua loves his great-great grandma! It's funny...for me, he never wants to sit still like this, but he loves to snuggle with any of his grandparents, great-grandparents and great-greats! Guess there is just something about the lap of a grandpa or grandma! :-)

A shot of those who were able to come to the party...we had quite a crew!

And another 5-generations shot. The lighting isn't great on this one, but it still turned out pretty good!

Our week got off to a rough start when Joshua woke up yesterday morning with the stomach flu. Poor kiddo. He is still sleeping now, but we are praying he wakes up feeling much better today...and that neither Mike or I will get it! I have been scrubbing EVERYTHING down...keep away, germs!

Hope you all are having a good week!

Blessings,
The Hollemans

My Day

Good morning! My name is Joshua, and I am going to tell you all about my day.

When I wake up in the morning, Mommy dresses me and then I drink my milk.

Then it is time to play!

Pretty soon, I start to get hungry (and try to raid Mommy's pantry!), so Mommy feeds me breakfast. My favorite is oatmeal or pancakes!

After breakfast, it's playtime again! I like to explore Mommy's cupboards...there is lots of great stuff in there!

Hi Mommy! You weren't using this, right?

All that play makes a boy HUNGRY, so it's back into the high chair for lunch!

After lunch, Mommy & I head upstairs for my afternoon nap. I take a nice long nap for her...having this much fun wears a boy out!

When I wake up from my nap, it's time to play again! Let's go!

I do puzzles...

I dance and sing to my fridge radio...

Sometimes I even help Mommy fold the laundry!

I like to watch a video while I wait patiently for Daddy to come home from work. When he gets home, we all have dinner together.

After dinner, we play some more!

Then it is time for my bath...this is my favorite part of the day!

After my bath, I brush my teeth and get into my jammies.

Then Mommy and Daddy read me bedtime stories. My favorite is my Veggie Tales Bible Stories book. After a very fun, very busy day, I say my prayers, get kisses and hugs and it's off to bed!

I hope you enjoyed hearing about my day. Mommy & I were going to go to the grocery store today, but it is snowing, so she said I can help her do some work around the house instead. Have a wonderful Wednesday!

Love,
Joshua
