A New Adventure!

Well, dear friends and family, it's the post you've all been waiting for...we have a call! Mike accepted a call to Fairview Reformed Church in Fairview, IL, and we will be moving there in just 9 days! We are SO EXCITED! The people in Fairview are absolutely wonderful and we feel so honored and blessed that they have invited us to be part of their church family.



As we embark on this new adventure, we would continue to covet your prayers. Please pray that we will be God's humble servants first and foremost, that we would trust him with everything, and that he would use us to bring glory to his Kingdom!



Thank you for all your prayers, love and support - you all mean so much to us! God is GOOD!

Big Boy!

Mommy was NOT ready for this next stage...the transition from infant car seat to big boy car seat!



He still fits in his infant car seat (it goes up to 32 lbs., and NO, we haven't quite reached the weight limit yet, haha!), but he is starting to get too long for it and seems a bit uncomfortable riding in it. Thus, we decided it was time to make the upgrade.



Our little man is growing up too fast! We are loving every minute, though! Before we know it, he'll be asking for the car keys - yikes!

Christmas in August

Today we traveled to Frankenmuth,, MI, to visit Bronner's Christmas Wonderland - the LARGEST Christmas store in the world!



I have never seen so many Christmas decorations all in the same place! They were amazing!



Pretty sure this is the world's largest Christmas tree ornament!?!? To give you an idea, it was at least 5 ft. in diameter!



Joshua thought the trees were so pretty! He was in awe as we explored the store, giggling and squealing the whole time!

Also in Frankenmuth is a HUGE outlet mall, which of course, we had to hit! Mike and I visited one of our favorite stores, Harry and David, for some yummy chocolate peanut butter pretzels (which are already gone!?)!

We have had some new developments in the baby world: Joshy has started sitting up from a prone position AND he has his first tooth! He won't let me in his mouth to get a good picture, but I'll keep trying!



One of his favorite bedtime snacks is graham crackers.

What mess, Mom?????

You can't see it, but there were crumbs under his arms, in his ears and in his belly button!



So, into the bath he went! As you can tell, he doesn't enjoy his baths at all, haha!

Muted Mondays: Sweet Summertime!

Air Zoo, Pineapple and Vacuuming

We are always searching for fun, FREE summer activities we can do as a family. Today we went to the Kalamazoo Air Zoo - yes, it's FREE!!!!!



I'm not the history buff that my husband is (he was on Cloud 9!), but I really enjoyed learning about the different planes, when they were built, which countries used them, etc. Joshy thought it was so cool to see all those big airplanes!



We have discovered a new favorite food for Joshua - PINEAPPLE! The above picture shows the difference between the bites Mommy cuts and the ones Daddy cuts. Mommy's piece is the top one - about the recommended, baby-finger-nail size. As you can see, Daddy's piece is...bigger! :-)



He prefers Daddy-sized bites!



Since our little man is now quite mobile, we have been attempting to keep the floor as clean as possible. Tonight, we got the vacuum out, and this is what resulted...



No children (or adults!) were harmed in the posting of this blog! While Mike vacuumed, Joshy thought it was funny to scream at the top of his lungs - he wanted to be heard over that vacuum!



And now we are taking it easy, snuggling and watching VeggieTales before bed. Life is GOOD.
