Apple Picking

Saturday, we headed to a local orchard to pick apples so Momma can make homemade applesauce this fall.

It was such a beautiful day.  The boys loved picking the apples just as much as they loved munching on them!  Of course, we had to enjoy some delicious hot cider and apple cider donuts as well!

So many fun things to look forward to this fall!

I know I've been neglecting this blog, but I'm hoping you all understand...I've been a little busy!  Ha.  Lots of fun pictures to share in the coming days, though, and hoping to play a little catch-up, so bear with me.

Today is our first full day on our own...say a little prayer for this momma!  LOL.  Have a wonderful day!

Auntie Keisha

My sis came out to visit last weekend.  We had a wonderful time, and the boys loved playing with Auntie Keisha!

Kaleb's Birth Story

On Wednesday, September 11, I had my 38-week check up.  Everything looked great and the doctor said labor could occur at any time!  Almost immediately after I left his office I started having contractions.  They were not regular or timeable so I didn't give it much thought as I went about my errands.

At around 1:30 in the afternoon, my contractions started getting more painful and were 3-5 minutes apart.  After about an hour of these, we called our baby-sitter and the doctor and headed into the office so they could monitor my contractions.  I had made some change since my appointment that morning, so he decided to send us on to the hospital!

On the way there, my contractions got even closer together and more painful.  But when we arrived, I hadn't progressed, so they had us walk the halls for an hour.  An hour of walking and still no progression.  Had us walk another hour.  Still nothing.  At this point we thought we might get sent home.  I was scared because the contractions were coming so strong and so hard and I had no idea how I would know when to head back to the hospital!

My OB wasn't comfortable sending us home since we live so far from the hospital, so we got checked in.  I sat on a yoga ball for an hour and FINALLY had progressed from a 4 to a 6.  We were having a baby!

They broke my water.  I bounced on the yoga ball some more and then moved into the bed and onto my hands and knees to help the baby move down.  Don't ask me why, but I opted for no epidural this time and oh man!  The contractions were killer.

Finally at about 3 a.m. I felt the urge to push.  3 pushes and he was here!  Kaleb Nolan Holleman came into this world at 3:12 a.m. on September 12th, 2013, after 14 hours of labor (my longest labor yet!).

7 lbs. 6 oz. 19.5 in. of perfection!

So far, the transition to a family of 5 has been fairly smooth.  We have had lots of help and Mike has stayed home a couple days.  Talk to me next week when we're completely on our own, haha.

We are so thankful for our 3 healthy boys.  God has truly blessed us.  Thank you all for the outpouring of love and prayers!

38 Week Photo

Took this photo the day I went into labor.  I never would have guessed it would be my last maternity photo!  So glad I took it even though I was contracting at this point and not feeling all that great.

He's Here!

Kaleb Nolan Holleman was born Thursday, September 12th at 3:12 a.m.  7 lbs. 6 oz. 19.5 in.

We were not expecting him yet at all!  The other two boys were born at 39 weeks 4 days and 39 weeks 6 days.  Kaleb was 12 days early.  We are so thrilled he's here and healthy and perfect.  I will post his birth story soon, but just wanted to let you all know he has arrived!

37 Weeks

Can't believe we have less than 3 weeks until my due date!  I am getting so excited to meet the little guy, and yet, a bit sad that I won't be pregnant for much longer.  Despite some of the aches and pains that come along with pregnancy, I really love being pregnant (talk to me again when I'm overdue...I'm sure I'll have changed my tune!).  Also, for the most part, it's much easier carrying him around now than it will be when he's here and I'm lugging around the infant carrier and diaper bag, plus trying to use my ONE free hand to hang on to the other TWO kiddos, LOL.

Had an ultrasound yesterday and he is measuring at around 7 lbs., which means if I go pretty close to my due date, he'll probably be about 8.5 lbs.  Joshua and Luke were both 8 lbs. 7 oz., so he's right on track!

Sleep is starting to be an issue, as I have to get up every hour or so to use the restroom.  So, I'm a little more tired than usual, but I guess that's to be expected!

That's about it I guess.  Everything's going great, baby is healthy and super active.  We are starting to get out all the baby gear, which makes me even more excited.  I'd still like him to stay put at least another week...Mike has to preach in Fulton this weekend, which is 2 hours away, so I REALLY want baby to wait until he gets back.

Have a happy Thursday!

Love,
Krys

First Day of Preschool

Joshua had his first day of preschool today!  How in the world is that possible?!  My little man is getting so grown up!

He was so excited!  He didn't even notice when Mike and I left, and Miss Kim said he had a great first day!  We celebrated with lunch and ice cream at the Fairview Ice Cream Center.

Last night I was all set to bang out a nice long walk but, as I was walking out the door, Joshua asked if he could come along.  My immediate instinct was to tell him he should stay with Daddy because I was going to go too far for him, but I decided a walk with just my big boy sounded fun.  I'm so glad I did!  We had a wonderful time just walking and talking about anything and everything.  We only walked about 1.5 miles, but it was such a special time and the conversation was precious.  We both decided we want to make it a more frequent occurrence!

JJ is SO EXCITED for his baby brother to arrive.  He keeps asking, "Is the baby coming today?"  I know part of it is that he knows his grandpas and grandmas will be coming to visit when Baby Boy #3 makes his entrance, but he is already talking about how he can't wait to hold him and sing to him and snuggle him.  What a sweet big brother.  We are so proud of our big boy!
