Adult Assembly Required

As an early Christmas gift, Joshua received a Cozy Coupe from his Aunt Sara and Uncle Adam. We used to have one of these when I was a kid, and I remember it being so much fun!

So, last night, Mike and I finally got around to putting it together. Doesn't look too complicated, right? Haha, don't be fooled...when they say "adult assembly required," what they really mean is "adult with fully-functioning, uncluttered mind who is not trying to keep an 11-month-old from playing with all the hazardous pieces."

It took some doing, but we did finally get it put together!

Joshua couldn't wait to play with his new car! Mom and Dad FINALLY finished it!

This is AWESOME, Momma!

Just cruisin'. Thanks Auntie Sara and Uncle Adam! This is a toy he is sure to have tons of fun with!

Big Boy!

Doesn't this kid just look too grown up to be only 11 months old? He seems SO TALL to me lately...it's not going to take him long to catch up to his 5' 2" momma! He is constantly chewing on his thumb...perhaps working on some of those back teeth?

Our little man is still not quite brave enough to walk on his own, but he's getting close! He frequently stands without holding onto anything, and we've even caught him taking a few steps here and there! He'll walk around an entire room by holding onto the walls for support...it's so fun to watch!

Only 20 more days until Christmas!

Win Some, Lose Some

Despite the outcome of the game today, we are still in good spirits in the Holleman household! After all, ya win some, ya lose some, right? Well, I guess if you're the Detroit Lions, you could just say, "Ya lose some...ya lose some." Haha. But we are still die-hard fans...call us gluttons for punishment! :-)

Only 21 days until Christmas!

Open House

Today we hosted a Christmas open house at our home. We have been planning this for a while and were really looking forward to it!

We spent the week cleaning, decorating and baking in preparation...what better way to get in the holiday spirit?!

The open house was so much fun! We are truly blessed by wonderful people in our congregation and community. I can't remember the last time I laughed so hard, or had such great fun and fellowship!

All in all, a terrific day. Now it's time to unwind a little bit. Have a wonderful weekend...only 22 more days!

Love and blessings,

23

I know, I know...I already failed at my daily Christmas Countdown! Yesterday, we were busy baking and cleaning all day, and before I knew it, the day was over!

Anyway, here it is...only 23 more days! Happy Friday!

The Countdown Begins!

Only 25 more days until Christmas! I always like to do a Christmas Countdown, so this year my goal is to post a blog each day until the Big Day! Hold me accountable, please! :-)

I love this face...blowing bubbles!

We have had a busy week here! This Saturday we will be hosting a Christmas open house at our home, so I have been busy cleaning, shopping, decorating and baking! We are getting very excited!

Joshua has been learning so much lately. He gets into my cupboards and takes everything out, loves to play the piano and sing along, climbs the stairs like a champ, *helps* me with the laundry by dumping it all over the floor, and has even figured out that the pantry is where we keep the food (hey, the kid likes to eat!)! It is such a joy to watch him learn and grow, but he definitely keeps Mike and me hopping!

We have noticed that he is really picking up on certain words, too. If I say, "Do you want a sippy cup?" he responds by whimpering until said sippy cup is in his hands. When I ask, "Do you want to watch a movie?" he crawls over to the TV and sits down, waiting for me to put his movie in. He loves to stand in front of the TV, but this often leads to fingerprints on the TV, so Mike and I will ask him to, "Sit down, please," and he sits! And, of course, he knows what "no-no," means. We usually have to repeat that one once or twice! ;-)

I guess that's about it for this family for today. I have probably procrastinated on my work long enough!

Hope you all have a wonderful day!
