Grin and Bear It
I know, I know, it has been 3 whole days since I blogged! That may not seem like a lot to some of you, but to those grandpas and grandmas waiting for photos of the little guy, it seems like forever! :-)
Our week has been busy, busy, busy thus far! Our days have been filled with packing and organizing, and we've had dinner with friends or family every night! We feel so very blessed to have the friends and family that we do!
Joshua has had a bit of a rough week. One word - TEETHING. This has definitely been an interesting experience for two first-time parents! Our usually bubbly, sweet-tempered little boy has been cranky and tearful. Of course, who wouldn't be? Mike read somewhere that teething is one of the most painful experiences we humans endure throughout our entire lifespans! POOR BABY!
Despite the pain and bouts of fussiness, our little tyke still manages to amaze us with his joyful personality!
When the packing and cleaning become too monotonous and we begin to feel frustrated and discouraged, Joshy's smiles and giggles remind us that we are so very BLESSED in so many ways! If he can "grin and bear it" through the painful process of teething, then we most definitely can approach our packing and moving with joyful spirits!
Thank you, Lord, that our lives are in your hands and your plan is bigger than anything we could imagine!
Love to you all,
M, K & JJ

Tigers vs. Twins
For Father's Day this year, Joshua gave Mike tickets to a Tigers' baseball game.
So, yesterday, we made the trek to Detroit!
Quick family shot before we took off. Mike's folks watched the babe while we were at the game.
We had GREAT seats...just behind home plate and a little to the left, 19 rows up...we could see everything!
Go Tigs! Beat those Twinkies!!!!! :-D
Celebrating another Tiger win! 7-4 Detroit!

Best Photo Ever!
Scroll through this post to see the best-ever Joshy photo!

Nope, not that one...

Pretty sure they tell you NOT to do this with a laundry basket, but he was having fun, and he was just so darn cute!

This one's great...you're almost there!

Nope, not that one, either, although this photo is in my top 5 faves! Are you ready? Drumroll please...

HAHA! Gotcha! His new favorite thing is to stick out his tongue. In the future, we may regret encouraging this, but for now, we think it's cute! :-)
Hope you all have had a wonderful week - enjoy your weekend!

Fourth of July in Iowa
Friday, we drove down to Iowa to spend the holiday weekend with my family. Here are just a few photos of our time thus far!

JJ helping Daddy "drive" during one of our pit-stops.

We visited Joshua's Great-Great-Grandma Rozendaal.

5 generations! Grandma Schnell, Grandma R., me and Josh, Mom

My boys relaxing together!

Our little Hawkeye!

He may have been born in Michigan, but he bleeds black and gold! At least as long as his momma has anything to say about it! ;-)

Mom and Dad's pup, Chloe

Josh and Chloe getting acquainted - he was giggling while she licked his fingers.

Sleeping on Mommy's pillow.

Cracking up at Grandpa

He fell asleep on our way to the parade.

Our family - JJ was too busy watching the trucks go by!

He was so serious while watching the parade - so much to take in!

Happy Independence Day!

Snuggle time with Grandma!

Play time with Grandpa!

Watching the fireworks on Grandpa's lap.

We hope you all enjoyed or are enjoying your Fourth of July weekend!
Blessings,
M, K & JJ
