Football!

Guess who just got a new football today?

Joshua is ALL BOY. He LOVES football, and gets so excited when he sees it on TV. He and his daddy have had so much fun watching the Lions together this season!

Running the ball into the end zone...

TOUCHDOWN!

Daddy is so proud! :-)

Blessed

Just some pictures from the wonderful baby shower that was thrown for us by some very dear friends this past weekend. Baby Boy #2 is going to be just as spoiled as his big brother! We feel so very blessed...only 34 more days!

Moms' Day Out

Yesterday, my friend Brandi and I headed to Peoria for a day of shopping and pampering. We left our boys with two very capable, very fun baby-sitters! It was wonderful - we actually had time to browse in the stores, linger over our lunch (without cutting up any food or wiping any hands/faces!) and get pedicures! What a fun day!

The boys had a blast together and didn't even notice we were gone. Joshua was having so much fun that he didn't want to take a nap and miss out on play time with his buddies! Thus, as soon as we got home, he cashed out on Daddy's chest. So sweet!

We tried to wake him for dinner, but he just glared at us and fell asleep again.

Having his late dinner. Such a fun day, Momma! I am so blessed to have a friend I can do these things with...it's nice (and IMPORTANT) to get out of the house every once in a while!

We are gearing up for a fun weekend! Happy Friday, everyone!

Love,
M, K & JJ

Lunchtime Sillies

Hamming it up yesterday at lunch. This boy is SO into apples lately. He asks for an apple with pretty much every meal. We really have to watch him, though, because if we don't catch him in time, he will eat the core, seeds and all!

And today, falling asleep at the table. I wish I had gotten a video of this...his head would touch the table and he'd shoot straight up, then his head would roll back and bump the chair and he'd sit up again. It was so funny, but Momma felt sorry for him and carted him off to bed. Tomorrow, JJ gets to play with his friends Blake and Logan while the mommas have a girls' day out...YAY!

Michigan Vacation - September, 2011

I have been meaning to post these pics from our MI trip but hadn't gotten around to it yet, so here they are!

JJ is such a good traveler. He is usually nonplussed when we interrupt his normal schedule, but on this day he had finally had enough and was in desperate need of a nap! A little singing and rocking and he was out like a light! I need to take advantage of these moments, because I am quickly running out of room on my lap!

Reading stories with Great-Grandma De Pree. He LOVES Goodnight Moon and has now heard it so many times that he fills in the words as we read!

A trip to Crane's orchard for the last Honeycrisps of the season.

Joshua got to meet his cousin Amanda for the very first time. They had a grand time chasing each other around!

When the Lions were down 20-0 at the half, little man decided it was time for a snooze on the living room floor. Little did he know, they would come back for an incredible win!

Playing at Jungle Joe's. He was very timid at first and did not enjoy the slides or the bouncy houses (in most of my pictures he looks petrified), but Daddy finally convinced him it was fun!

Reading Daddy's favorite childhood book, I Am a Bunny. Joshua would bring this book to one of us, throw it on our laps and say, "Read it!" Haha. He also has this one memorized!

Mmmmmm, cookies! There is never a shortage of treats at Grandma and Grandpa's house!

Reading Goodnight Moon AGAIN.

This is such a great picture of JJ with his great-grandparents!

We had such a wonderful trip, and got lots of quality time with family, which was a blessing. From now until this baby arrives, friends and family are going to have to come to us! No more long car trips for this momma for the next 6 weeks! :-)

Have a blessed day!

Love,
The Hollemans

ABC's

We have been working on our ABC's for a while now, and JJ recognizes all the letters!

He gets so excited when I pull out his flash cards, and asks me multiple times a day, "Cards? Cards?" He thinks this is such a fun game! Yesterday, in church, he started reading the letters on the front of my Bible. Everyone got a kick out of it! Also, when we go shopping he is constantly reading letters and numbers. It is so fun to see his little brain absorbing so much!
