What Are You Thankful for Today?

After reading a friend's blog, I was inspired to write a list of things today for which I am thankful. I definitely don't do this enough!

I am thankful for my wonderful husband, who helped me clean the whole house last night, which is something I was majorly stressing about.

I am thankful for our precious 18-month-old son, who is healthy, and is the sweetest, happiest little boy I have ever met! I am thankful that he makes me laugh all day long with all the new things he is learning. His little mind just amazes me!

I am thankful for this sweet baby boy growing inside me. Thankful that he is healthy thus far, and is kicking me more and more every day!

This morning, I am thankful for coffee. I haven't had much of it this pregnancy, but today I decided to cave and have a cup, and I am loving it!

I am thankful that my bridesmaid's dress for Keisha's wedding still fits. We ordered them before I was pregnant, when I was at my very thinnest, and I am so thankful that at 22 weeks pregnant, while it's a bit snug, it still fits!

I am thankful for a roof over our heads, two cars that run, good health insurance, and a little money in savings.

I am thankful that my husband has a good job, a job that he loves, and a job that allows me to be a stay-at-home momma.

I am thankful that after this weekend, we get to take our first vacation in over a year! Mike has been preaching since September, and we have not had a Sunday off since then. We are definitely looking forward to a little break and some quality family time!

I am thankful that Joshua has adjusted so well to sleeping in his big boy bed, and is sleeping in it 10+ hours a night. Lord knows, Momma and Daddy are going to need to store up on sleep in these next few months!

I am thankful for the love and support of our wonderful families and friends. You are all so dear to us!

I could go on and on, but you get the idea. God has blessed us so richly, and I just can't help being overwhelmed by his grace and love! Whether in the richest or poorest of times, we can always find multiple reasons to be thankful!

What are you thankful for today?

Bananas

I borrowed this from a friend's blog.

This happens pretty much every week at our house...I buy green bananas in hopes that they will last all week. One day they're still green, the next day they're brown. My poor husband is complaining that I don't follow through on the last part, though...I could easily make about a loaf of banana bread a week, haha!

Fairview Homecoming 2011

This weekend, Fairview is hosting it's annual Homecoming festival. There is a carnival in town, lots of yummy food, and all kinds of fun entertainment! This is JJ and I getting ready to head out Friday night to get a funnel cake for dinner! YUM!

Someone didn't get a good nap Friday afternoon, so he was so sleepy and snuggled with his daddy while we watched the kiddie tractor pull and the game show "Card Sharks."

Heading out at 7:15 this morning for the Jed Johnson Memorial Race. Joshy and I participated in the 1 mile walk...

...but this guy ran his first 5k! So proud of him!

Joshua had a great time at the parade...he got WAY too much candy for an 18-mo-old boy...I guess Momma and Daddy will have to help him eat it all! ;-)

Having a sucker and watching the parade...he was a sticky mess when we got home, but he loved every second!

Pool time in the afternoon.

Someone was tuckered out after this weekend's activities...so sweet!

After our busy weekend, we have decided to forego this evening's Homecoming events and just hang out at home. We have a couple Netflix movies to catch up on!

Hope you all have had a good weekend!

Love and blessings,
The Hollemans

Big Boy Room

Nice and messy, just as a little boy's room should be. Joshua is loving his new bed now - he slept in it 10.5 hours straight last night! What a big boy!

3 Years

Today we are celebrating 3 wonderful years of marriage. I feel so blessed to have such a Godly, loving man as my husband. Due to a very busy week, we won't get a chance to really "go out" and celebrate until this weekend, but it's been nice just being together today. I love you, honey, and can't wait to see what God has in store in the years to come!

July 4th, 2011

We hope you all had a wonderful 4th of July!

We were invited to spend the evening with friends, enjoying delicious food and wonderful fellowship. Joshua found a dirt pile that kept him entertained for hours!

It was a beautiful day for a celebration!

Watching the fireworks with Momma...he couldn't peel his eyes from the sky, he just thought the fireworks were so great!

The best family photo we could get...JJ was NOT cooperating, but it didn't turn out too bad!

We are so thankful to live in a country where we have the freedom to worship our living and loving God. He is so good!

Changes

This weekend we were very blessed to have both Mike's parents and my own visiting us. With the impending arrival of baby brother in just 4.5 short months, we put them to work helping us paint! They stripped border, and more border (whoever laid border over border was not thinking about the people who would eventually have to take it off!), and painted eggshell blue walls a nice, fresh white. Here is the finished product - we have started moving some of baby boy's stuff in, but I will definitely post more pics when the room is completely decorated.

On top of new paint, we also put Joshua's new big boy bed together. We left the crib in his room, just in case he wasn't ready to make the transition to his new bed yet. He napped for two hours in it yesterday afternoon, and last night he slept in it almost through the night! He woke up at 10:30 because he couldn't find his puppy, but was soon again fast asleep. Then at 3 he walked into our room! I had heard him coming, so I took him back to his room and sat with him a couple minutes until he was sleeping. Then he slept straight until 7:15! Considering this was only his first night, we are pretty proud of him, and are hoping for another good night tonight! Mike is upstairs trying to get him down for a nap right now, but for some reason I am hearing more giggles than sleeping going on up there... ;-)

And little man is doing a little better with drinking his water instead of so much milk...we are now down to about 2.5 gallons of moo juice per week!

Despite making our parents work for their keep this weekend, we did manage to get lots of card games and nice family time in. :-)

Getting squirted with the hose to try to keep cool! I just love this picture because he still looks like my sweet little baby!

And some more pool time...this boy just loves the water!

Lounging in the yard...love these summer evenings!

Reading books with Grandma and Grandpa.

We are looking forward to celebrating the 4th with good friends tonight. Hope you all have enjoyed this beautiful weekend!
